The guy in that video is a idiot and is causing panic. Amazon has not ended the ability to use third party apps. They have added a feature that Android boxes have had for a very long time called play protect. The only app that I can find proven not just reported to be disabled is Flixvision and in my opinion it it for good reason because that specific app is known to have malicious code. And modded versions of that app can be reinstalled. Stop fear-mongering.

Better off getting android streaming devices.
In my experience with my old fire stick, any app I installed had a tendency to stop working eventually and would need to be reinstalled. I've since switched to an ONN 4k and it has been such a better experience.

Same here. Ive been replacing aging firesticks with the ONN's. I do like the remote better on the firestick but I like the experience better on the ONN.
