This seems like a better value for those needing to port out of somewhere, to here, and then to their final destination. And with choice of carrier if phone is capable, you have many possibilities.
Last month I had a Visible (VZW) number that I wanted to add to a temporary Total Wireless account, before that visible number was lost (it was a month since visible service expired). But TW wouldn't let me do it, VZW to VZW. . .I sweated it out another few weeks and luckily was able port that expired service # from Visible to TMO. But I wanted to keep the number, and this option seems much less stressful if you value that number, for those bouncing around. And cheaper. I would have bought a 2 line TW plan instead of 3 line plan for the two lines with heavy usage, and bought this cheap thing for the line listed above, that I just wanted parked for a month, then moved. Make sure on MVNO's you get your account # and PIN (for porting purposes) before service expires.

Do you mean I can port number from other carrier? Will it be free?

This is cheaper than those "$4 ATT numbers to port" from ebay that everybody is using to do port in iP11 deal on TMO. . .
And a cheap option for sending a temp number off to pasture (i.e. all those who just got their Sprint $300 BYOD rebate cards and want to cancel sprint lines without hassle, or similar with VZW)
