$50 seems kinda low for a new credit card, but it is better than $0 if you were thinking about getting the card.

Apple only does a soft pull when approving a credit line. If you're not concerned with taking a hit to average age of accounts, you can get an approval in the app and then freeze your credit reports (free service offered by each credit bureau) before clicking approve. Once frozen, click approve.

They will attempt to do a hard pull but fail, and you'll still be able to use the card without any new inquiries on your account.

I got a card 2 weeks ago. You think Apple will give me the credit now?

It's offensively low, but easy since you only need to spend $1 to trigger the bonus.
Would you prefer a $500 credit *when you spend $5,000 at an Apple store In 90 days*?

$200 cash back from Chase after spending $500 in 90 days. Which is a lot better than this crappy deal.

I mean, considering they are offering any at all is pretty huge. I knew I did the right thing by waiting. Maybe the deals will get better, not sure.

But you can pretty much bet it will never match the other non Apple Card's. Ever.

I looked into this because it seemed like a good deal, but this appears to be inaccurate. This was the case when the card rolled out 10 months ago, but more recently (1-3 months) it seems they will do a hard pull a month or so later even if your reports are frozen. They are allowed to do this as one would now be a customer of theirs versus being an unaffiliated party.
