Will the AMEX offer apply to the total purchase (including tax) or do I need a filler to get up to 599?

You shouldn't if you have to pay sales tax fyi. Nice thing about Amex it looks at your total charged. That said, any idea if this has room for a RTX 1660s mini card and a decent PSU 600w or more?

If tax puts total at $599 or up you will get the CR.

Yeah, I'm not so sure now. Didn't take the chance myself. Below are the AMEX Details & Offer Terms.

Details
Get a one-time $120 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $599 in one or more transactions online at Dell.com by 7/31/2020.

Offer Terms
Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid online only at dell.com US website, through the merchant mobile app or via phone at 1-800-BUY-DELL. Valid only for purchases made directly with the merchant. Transactions through third party payment processors are excluded. Excludes all e-gift card and gift card purchases, international transactions, international contact center, Global events, Dell Financial services, Dell Outlet for Home, Dell Outlet for Work, Dell PartnerDirect, Dell Premier, Dell Premier Connect, Dell Premier Select, and authorized retailers. Not valid on purchases shipped outside the US, Puerto Rico, USVI and Guam. See merchant website for shipping policy. Some merchants may not ship to all areas. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member. The enrolled Card account must not be cancelled or past due to receive statement credit. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 7/31/2020, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with the merchant. In addition, in most cases, you may not receive the statement credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a third party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer.

I've done amex dell deal almost annually as well as other amex deals. If sales tax put you over the amount, you're good. I'm not finding much info on the internal slots (expansion ports) nor PSU rating, any ideas?

I purchased this with the standard 10% off at Dell, my Amex card has a 5x points per dollar spent. It's not an insane deal but a pretty solid PC for the price, just needs a little more RAM.

I'm still not quite clear on it, but I guess this system could come with either of these PSU. I assume if you configured it with an RTX 2070, it would come with the 460w PSU which is surprising as nVidia recommends a 650w PSU (granted I was running my current Dell T3500 w/ 525w PSU for RTX 2660s, but just upgraded to 875w PSU.Description Values
Type D10 460 W EPA Bronze OR D9 260 W EPA Bronze

Grandma here, looking for a gaming rig for my grandson. This won't do, right, because this is more business oriented? I have the AmEx Dell offer on my card. Does anyone know of a good gaming deal now, or should I stay away from Dell? Thank you.

Hi Grandma - That is correct, Vostro are toward more business oriented. Dell has a line called Alienware that's for gaming. I see some deals on https://slickdeals.net/deals/desktop/

Depending on how old is your grandson. If he's 5-8, he's probably playing games that are not 3D intensive and this one is fine. If he's teen 11+ or so, he's going to want 3D capability and you are looking at about $1k+ on sale for a decent gaming PC. Good luck.

I have an Optiplex 790 presently with ATI Radeon 5450 card running dual monitors. Can I use that with this computer to run dual monitors or do I need to buy a different video card or is there another way? Thanks
