If you're indoors mostly, probably fine. Running, forget about it.

I disagree: it is a quality issue.
I agree: some adidas shoes do last longer than others and I have found that it corresponds to the "list price".
The term is "athleisure [wikipedia.org]".
I've worn adidas shoes exclusively for the last 30 years and over the last 10 years the inexpensive, non-competitive adidas shoes have declined in quality (mainly materials, not so much in craftsmanship) and after 2 pairs of those I've resolved to only wear the more expensive running shoes .
for running and any thing less than or equal to "business casual", where I interpret "business casual" as khakis pants with adidas shoes
not intended for sports' competitions, professionally or recreationally, EDIT: or associated training/practice
after I've retired them from running because their cushion/shock-absorption wore out after 6 months to 2 years, depending on how many miles I was logging at the time
I had a pair of Stan Smiths that I bought in the 90s that lasted me 10 years (though I only wore them daily for 2-3 years and then a day or two a week after that due to my personal taste changing). That's quality.
When the fabric on the upper rips after merely wearing the shoes for 3-6 months, doing nothing more than standing, sitting, and walking in them (and not for exercise), then that's a quality issue. I didn't snag or rub them on anything, but merely wore them during the course of my day and after a few months of daily wear the inside lining on one pair of shoes separated / ripped from the upper and on a different pair of shoes the fabric on the top and side of the toebox ripped / pulled apart in multiple places. These were the shoes you find at department stores and non-athletic shoe stores, where presumably the competitive athletic shoes are deemed too expensive and specialized to carry.
ignoring the Ultraboost which everybody seems to sell
Based on my experience, the more expensive adidas shoes are better in quality, ie "you get what you pay for". The two pairs of "athleisure" adidas shoes I detailed were $30-40 on sale, but more importantly had a "list price" of $60-80. Within the last 6 months I've bought Solarboost and Adizero Adios shoes as "Slickdeals" for only $20 more, ie $50-60, but they have a "list price" of $140-160, are higher quality (in at least materials if not also in craftsmanship), and I expect they'll last years, not months. I've found running shoes work well also as walking (both for exercise and mere transportation), standing, and sitting shoes, but maybe my feet are versatile and don't require specialized, ie "walking", shoes. And after they are visually "worn out" (eg scuffs, stains, rips/tears) from eventual accidents, I retire my running shoes to "yard work" shoes where they last another 2-3 years before falling apart from abuse.
Now I'm not recommending everybody buy a pair of Ultraboost 20 at the $180-200 list price, but find a pair of "Slickdeals" adidas running shoes with good reviews and selling well below list price. It's worked for me.

What is the QR code on Adidas shoes?

I feel like adidas quality has gone down the drain. The sole literally fell off my adidas.

Unfortunately these aren't the ones for you boss. This pair is designed for running so you can't use them for walking. I'd keep looking...
