Looks solid. But I'm holding out for a Ryzen 7 w/ Thunderport 3.0. Yes, I'll pay more

Got the ASUS G14 with 4900HS and 2060 MaxQ from best buy while I wait for a unicorn with TB3. I doubt it will happen to be honest. Rather enjoy the tech available than wait for something ideal yet improbable to come out. Only crap thing about the G14 is no webcam but I've got a usb one so all good.
As far as this dell deal goes, its a 3700 which is considerably slower than the new Ryzen chips. I would only buy a 4700U at the bare minimum now, but enjoy how fast the 4900HS is... it is nearly as fast as my desktop 3950X.

Hey did that g14 cost 600? Looking for a web surfing couch laptop for cheap. Sounds like you are saying the 4900hs is the way to go?
No unfortunately not, I bought it open box from best buy for $1,227. Everything was perfect though. But its definitely a premium device, weighs 3.5lb and 14" screen, IMHO best bang for the buck out there but its not $600 no. I got a great deal on mine though.

The new Ryzen chips are great and comparable or better than similar Intel processors. This is the previous gen Ryzen that isn't nearly as good. It's not bad but AMD made significant improvements with the newest generation.
How's the heat generation?
Was going to get a xps 7390 i7 but wonder if a cheaper Inspiron would be a better use of money. Have the 200 dell credit and 10% rebate for dell purchases.
Thoughts. Get this or wait for a deal on a 7300 2in1?
I work 16 hour days so I don't have time to game. Just causal surfing and knowledge learning with some Netflix/Hulu when I have a show to watch.
