Is that good? It's been a while since I purchased a new HDD. The reviews on Amazon looks average....

And how do people get these coupons?

Dang this is a good deal but I will never trust failgate ever again in my entire life. Even if it were free I'd never put anything of importance on it.

These are about $15.50 per GB, and are reportedly CMR (not SMR) which is good. 8TB or lower can be SMR, but 10TB+ are CMR.

Make sure you go all the way to check out. Once you applied the coupons it always says coupons applied (or otherwise). Then go all the way to check out and you will see the discount.

I should have kept my order. I ordered one, cancelled because of all the bad reviews from Amazon.

Are they really this bad?

The Barracuda Pro is what you want. Better specs than the normal Seagate consumer internal HDD's.

Some people report getting Ironwolf NAS drives. Not sure if either one is better than the other.

I ordered last week and just got mine a couple hours ago. I also have the ST1000DM0004.

Thanks, I actually had an order. Maybe the next time I should have waited for its arrival before deciding to return or not.

Sorry, just can't stomach ever buying a Seagate again. After owning roughly 6 seagates and 5 western digitals, the data is clear to me. Literally every single one of the 6 Seagates died within 4 years and every western digital is still going the longest being 7 years.

WD has been solid for me too. Only ever had one WD drive fail. A 4tb under warranty. Others still going strong. My 500gb external still works its probably 15 years old or so.

I even have a bunch of old ide's box 20gb to 250gb back from the 90's. All the WD drives still work. I do need to get rid of them though. Junk taking up space.

Biggest problem I've noticed with Seagates is failing sectors.
