Quite confusing! Oh well, for me I don't care if it is golden plated or not, as long as it drills through the material I have without issue. I bought a set from Ryobi which disappointed me. Two bits broke within 5 minutes, and that was a $15 set; so I can't imagine this being much worse.
Also, Home Depot product description states that it is black oxide. I can't find a way to change the title on the Slickdeals app. Sorry!
