A $20 knife would only be 420HC steel or a Chinese Steel. If I didn't already have a few lives and knowing my wife would kill me I would jump.

You are still lacking. Once you get to my level you can rationalize every knife purchase
No comparison. This knife is a crap shoot. You literally don't know what you are going to get. You could potentially have a winning blade. Micarta handles, D2 steel, deep carry pocket clip are great features. I prefer a frame lock to a liner lock but if the lock fails, the liner lock is easier to modify
