The trash cans are expensive, but they're also very well-made and the customer service seems to be great if you have an issue. And since freestanding trash cans take up a lot of space, it's good to have a decent-looking one if you can't or don't want to conceal it in a cabinet. And you'd be surprised how rare two-bin cans are and how much they can cost. With all that plus a good deal to reduce odors and canine temptation. it's worth the price at 36% off.
What I really wanted is a Wesco Spaceboy [wesco-shop.us]. but it would have been more than twice what I paid, has only one bin (so recycling would go somewhere else – maybe get another one and set up a launch pad) and would take up as much space or more. The place where mine is worked for a shallow rectangle, but the Simple Human half-round stuck out too much.
And yes, I know I thought about trash cans way too much. I was relieved when I finally picked one.
