It's not using the word diet to mean low calorie. It's just saying it's a limited ingredient product which is important for some cats and just dandy for others. No problem feeding this to any cat.

Any reason to buy diet instead of non diet if your cat doesn't need it? Good deal but my cat doesn't need to be on a diet

Just a heads up, this brand is controversial as heck.

If your cat or dog has been doing fine up til this point, thank goodness. However just know the risks of this brand seems to be higher than many other brands.

My vet said it's bad food with good marketing. She advised us to change brands when one of our cats had urinary obstruction.

With processed foods causing cancer and other health issues as evident from several cases i hear, If you really love your pet cat, prepare a quick homemade food everyday.

Most male cats will develop urinary blockage with dry foods. Best to give them good wet foods. Google what causes urinary blockage in cats and what foods to avoid. For male cats always feed the food that does not cause blockage.

Our male maine coon(ish) cat twice developed severe urinary tract problems from Blue Buffalo dry food due to high protein.
Whether it was solely related to the food or not, can't say for sure but we no longer feed any dry food and switched to Purina urinary health.
Listening to a cat scream while it tries to urinate is no fun.
