Why? Just would take several weeks to charge on solar? I also heard better to use a solar panel and connect that to a battery bank. Possible that lithium ion based batteries sitting in hot sun can do some bad things, maybe.
It's not efficient at all. It would need to be in the sun for weeks to charge it. By that time you would probably damage the batteries themselves from the heat.
Thx only other fair thing i can say then would be that the ruggedness may be nice, waterproof and you can drop it and stuff, so good for hiking compared to a regular one

The solar panel is listed as an output. Not an input. Leads me to believe the intended purpose is to go straight the outputs and into a connected device to stretch out the battery life of the bank itself. Though if that's the case I have no idea why the listing says otherwise. It contradicts itself many times over.
Either way great deal on a 25000mah battery!

Me: "... I've had it either in my front window or on the dash of a vehicle for almost 3 weeks now and it the charge level has only gone up 1 light/25%. Every time I look the green light is on which I took to mean that it's getting sufficient light to charge. I've also read that it takes 2 days to fully charge on solar. 19 days and it's still not full. Is there something I should be doing other than putting the battery pack in a place that gets a lot of sunlight? It charges just fine if I charge the pack via a usb cable. Thanks for your time."
Support: "Here we recommend you to charge it with the 2A output adapter or 2.4A output adapter. For 25000mah capacity, it usually takes at least 26 hours to be fully charged with normal 1A output charger. And it takes 12-13 hours to be fully charged with 2A output charger. And when the power bank is charging by sun, the best charging current is just 0.3A, so it will not be fully charged the power bank due to the high capacity. Solar charging can be used as an emergency power source, but if possible, charging with a wall charger is recommended. "
Me: "So the product is advertised as being able to be charged via solar power yet you say not to charge via solar power. "
Support: "We hope your kindly understand that it is the design limit of the item, power bank is designed for easy to carry and use when you are on the way, so the size could not be very large. For our 25000mah power bank, you must consider the size of it, it is just 7.1 x 3.5 x 1.1 inches, and the Solar panel size will be much smaller than the item size. But charging speed is according to the Solar panel size."
Also in reading my emails to them I found out that I left it in that south facing window for 3 weeks and it only went up 25%. Which sounds even worse than the week I previously stated lol

Wow lol. Makes you wonder why they even added it.
3 weeks for 25% to me sucks. I can't even justify it as emergency use, who is lost in the montains for 3 weeks and still find use at 25% battery. You would be long gone by the time you got the power you needed.
The pack is big but i like the rugged element. It isnt THAT much bigger than competing 26800mah packs, bigger than normal 20000mah no doubt.
