Sams club has this 40 inch TV , potentially can be use as monitor but I don't know how that would be . Anyone who owns can suggest please.

Also Costco has same price in store. https://www.costco.com/vizio-40%2...70524.html

So I can assume if this models going to have HDMI 2.1 it will run 4k@120 :]
absolutely NO, the panel is 60Hz.

Got this recently brand new in box off OfferUp for $120.

Out the box most picture settings are horrible and dark calibrated would be the one closest to ideal for anything if you don't plan on dialing it in .

Also only HDMI 1 and 2 can be used in uhd mode if your interested in 4k content.

For this price I would pass unless your planning on using it as a monitor maybe ? Idk Im not a PC gamer .
are you sure only HDM1/2 supports UHD?
having v40-g model, HDMI1/2/3 can do UHD. I am using now.

this tv is good being a monitor due to no PWM mode when >50% backlight (some people are very sensitive on PWM backlight), and angleview is better than tcl 4 43" (but better UI and apps, compare with vizio v40)

Bought one for work from home mainly for text and static picture viewing, Running on Macbook Pro 2016 with 4K 30fps. It's acceptable for that.

Are you talking about V405-H or V405-G?
Did you test it at resolution 3840x2160?

V405-H9 has very sharp text at resolution 3840x2160 but not in other resolutions.
Sorry, I just checked and it's the V405-G. I tested it at 3840 and no matter what I tweaked and adjusted, I could not get the text to appear right. When I first connected the TCL, it was more clear and sharp right off the bat and there was no input lag when moving the cursor. Could've been a bad panel.

Previously tried 55 4k 4:4:4 tv and 70 4k 4:4:4 tv as monitor, I really don't like it. Please correct me if I'm wrong but recent years low and mid tier tv haven't improve much in terms of use ability as monitor. I wouldn't buy this if you need a monitor. What I didn't like to use tv as monitor- very noticeable eye strain compare to real monitors, and mouse lag is annoy even for work

I don't think so. I setup a guest account and it looks like they charge an extra $22 handling fee.

So if I want to run things at 1080p on this panel, text will be kind of blurry? I actually prefer 1080p since I want to keep the TV further away from me when using it as a monitor. I'd still like a 4k panel though, but just want to be able to have sharp 1080p as well.

I really like the 480hz PWM

Sorry for waking up an old thread. If anyone is still following, I just picked up this, the V405-H19, to use as a monitor. (work, not gaming) Anyone know if hooking it to the internet will still break 4.4.4 chroma? I haven't yet, but would like to so I can occasionally use Netflix, etc on it.

I do notice mouse lag a little bit, but not so bad that it bugs me. Haven't used it for a full day of work yet though so we'll see tomorrow lol

If you notice mouse lag, you are probably running at 30hz. Make sure your computer output is hdmi 2.0

I'm using a thunderbolt 3 connector for it, so I'm pretty sure it's. And the lag is barely noticeable. Been using it for a while now and it's been great. So far the internet hasn't broken it.

thunderbolt does not support hdmi protocol, you need a usb-c hub or adapter to go to hdmi and most of those don't support 4k60.
Here is an example usb-c hub that does support 4k@60: https://www.amazon.com/Dockteck-T...=UTF8&th=1
