That said, the new ones will likely be ~$350 at launch, so this is a great price.
If still interested in this model, here are my thoughts:
Amazing headphones. The tests at Rtings.com and several other sites suggest it is the most effective noise cancelling headphone on the market. Its nearest competitor in the typical comparisons is the Bose 700, but the Sony set has FAR more customization options in the app. I have owned these and loved them, finding them super effective. That said, the pairing was annoying compared to other modern headphones. They also make your ears hot, so keep that in mind if you normally have always worn small earbuds or over-the-ear styles.

Bose is the winner when it comes to comfort. I'd say noise canceling is on the same level. Sound wise I actually prefer Bose. Xm4 will likely just be a small upgrade. Hoping to get some news about Bose earbuds 700 though.

Sound is a little bass-heavy for my taste. When I have the choice I prefer my HD6xx but that's not really a fair comparison.
They also aren't too tight around the ears so if you plan on working out with these maybe look into some earbuds instead. In most physical activity they'll be fine but when you start doing horizontal stuff like pushups and rows they'll slip off.
Oh, I just remembered quite literally the only thing I don't like about mine.... the mic is absolutely useless. I wanted these to be able to work for telework/calls, but everyone says they can't hear me well. No matter what adjustments I make on my laptop, the mic just doesn't pick up much at all.
I think I answered my own question after reading this guy's review... comparing version 2 with version 3. While the features on 4 would be nice, it's not worth the added cost to me. Hopefully the mic is a big difference.
