I know there is no such thing as too many screws, but in this case I'd rather buy a large box of 1 1/4 for all my plywood needs and a small box of whatever for any project if and when it comes

I was lucky to pick up 500 of 1 1/4 for $10 last October after a deal alert here

No, it's not. The average price is 28.51 and it hasn't been this price since early 2019. If you're going by CCC, they have the current price listed wrong at 27.99, which is screwing up their chart.

True. The only pocket screws I ever use are 1" for 1/2" plywood and 1 1/4" for 3/4" plywood. Buy them in bulk for cheap.

We have been using Milescraft [amazon.com] with the star bits and better assortment that work just as well... 700 screws for $22.62 as a starter kit with 4 sizes vs Kreg with 3 sizes is not bad for Amazon, but a little cheaper from our supplier. Like most, there will be a length or two that you use the most of and these kits may accumulate sizes you seldom use.

CCC website isn't updating for this particular kit. Try Keepa.com I purchased these a couple months ago at this price. They haven't changed price in a while.

Agreed. I bought a couple of the Kreg Blue-Kote assortment for $20ea when Lowe's was clearing them out a couple months ago. I've used up all the 2-1/2 inch screws and have nearly all the other sizes left. Would have been a far better value for me to get a box of 500 of the screws I use most. The rest of this assortment will likely last me for years since I seldom use the shorter lengths.

it has been this price for months and months. I bought the Milescraft 700 screws, more useful for me...i actually just returned a Kreg pocket hole right angle clamp, it didn't work well.

Just FYI - Lowe's has 50ct boxes of Hillman square drive pocket hole screws for about a dollar less a box than Kreg - didn't know this, just happened to see them in the fasteners section the other day

Might be good as a starter kit for a beginner? You can buy the kit then naturally, you will see which ones you actually end up using so you know which ones to stock up on based on the type of woodworking you are doing?

I would buy this for sure...

Some have said that they'd rather buy a single type of screw then by speciality screws as needed but I cannot tell you how many times I've been in the middle of a project to find that oddball screw size I didnt think I needed ending up being the perfect solution.

I'm a woodworker, a house flipper, a DIY'er and even a machinist with my own CNC machine. If you are any of those first 3, I'd absolutely get kits like this and fill up on the ones you use most.. buy in bulk then, not before.

It's the same mentality behind router bits where you buy a cheap set with many varieties, see which ones you're using the most and upgrade those particular bits instead of just assuming thus wasting money.
