Been thinking of getting a pole saw. Does anyone have any input between this one or the ego brand?

I have been on the fence about getting one too. Already have a few M18 tools so this fits in line with that. Don't know anything about the ego brand you're referencing.

I bought the Milwaukee a few months ago and I've only used this one, with the extension it is hard to balance, so the strap helps. Cuts tree limbs like butter.
The price is good, wish I had waited for it.

I have the QUIK-LOK trimmer and all the attachments including the pole saw. I have only had them for a couple months but the pole saw works great. Another commenter said something about it not being balanced, but in my opinion, it's as balanced as a pole saw can be. Simply because of the nature of the tool, it is going to work your arms when you have it extended. Simply comes with the territory.

I purchased this as a combo deal with the pole saw and hedge cutter for $379.99 in July 2019. If you only need the pole saw, then this $322.99 deal is not bad. The included heavy M8 RedLithium HD9.0 battery acts somewhat like a counterbalance to the pole saw head. A shoulder strap is included as well.

Any way to get it cheaper without the battery?

Found a few items on here that I need. Cannot get the site to work though, just loads forever on any button-click.

I got the Ego 10" pole saw a few weeks ago, and it's a monster. I haven't been disappointed in anything Ego so far, but the weed eater and pole saw have been above my expectations. I've only ever worked with echo and stihl products, so I'm generally expecting powerful results and they've delivered. I recently was gifted a milwaukee hedge trimmer and I'm not convinced I can give up my gas trimmer, although I can't comment on this particular pole saw.

I have had good experiences with the eGo line, though I don't have their pole saw. It seems like a nice well-designed line of products. As with any of these, one key is if you can stock up on multiple tools/batteries of the same line -- before they get discontinued. Greenworks has some good products but went through rapid changes in which voltage series they supported, which were discontinued, etc (and Kobalt falls into that same brand category).

One great benefit of the M18 tools it that many of us already might have some tools, batteries, chargers. The garden tools will need larger batteries and often come with a larger battery, but good to know they are interchangeable with your other M18 supplies.

Which hedge trimmer were you disappointed in? (or at least it sounded that way?). I have last year's M18 FUEL Hedge Trimmer and that thing is a total beast! I use it to hack through heavy thorny vines and brush. In RPG terms it's a two-handed sword which requires Strength and Agility boost. I used to say it's "if you want to go all Brienne of Tarth" with a hedge trimmer, this is the one for you. So if that was the model that disappointed you, I wonder what your heavy weapon of choice is?

I also have low-end toys ones like B&D and Worx and they are actually better for very light stuff and you can wave them around with one hand, and they are effective for small stuff. Ideally you probably want one heavy and one light one. or more if you like to collect tool deals.

Price matched at Home Depot because I had some gift cards. They would not let me add on a $20 off of $200 coupon
