I think the Intenso is a little smoother, but just as bold. Intense is right in terms of aroma, it is amazing. I'm not good at describing the tasting notes. I would say Intenso has a traditional espresso taste with a medium roast. The Rotunda tastes more dark roasted is a blend of 100% Arabica, but the Intenso has the slightly higher intensity rating (9). I lean towards the Intenso myself, but I like both and just bought a box of each. Here's a list I put together of the different Lavazza capsules and varieties (and a couple Kimbo). The descriptions are from the manufacturer:

Definitely my favorite "pod coffee". Great flavor and certainly enough caffeine to get your day started.

I order the 100 packs from Italy Best Coffee via amazon every few months. They've all had around a year expiration.

I received my Rotondo 2 from this deal yesterday, best by date 2/28/2021. That's pretty darn good. Don't wait because it's probably not going to last long, and for current (not out of date) capsules I doubt we'll see this price again on the double shot caps.

Not sure if many are aware, but Italy Best Coffee is actually run by Lavazza. I learned this after speaking with Lavazza customer support.

Although, this doesn't change whether this is an older batch or not. I'm assuming the age makes them more likely to go on sale.

I just got my $40 "test box" of ItalyBestCoffee Intenso 2's yesterday and they have an expiration of 4/30/2021. Nice! I have 3 Blue machines that my wife and I use multiple times daily, so I just placed another order for five more boxes of Intenso 2 and three of Rotondo 2. In my experience, capsules are definitely usable up to and beyond the expiration date.

I just wish Supermarket Italy would get a restock on Kimbo Napoli, but I think Kimbo stopped producing the Blue-compatible capsules.

I agree, the shelf life is really great. I just keep my extra boxes in the basement and they're fine. You know, the more I think about it I may buy one more box, it's too good to pass up. I also wondered about the Kimbo being out of stock for so long at Supermarket Italy. Either Kimbo stopped producing or SI discontinued and didn't get rid of the link. Either way, with this Lavazza special I'll be set for some time. "I'll have one more Intenso please".
