Lobbying from TI to keep them the standard in the classroom and providing the math courses to them while essentially soft banning anything else because underpaid teachers don't want to learn how to program your casio/hp/other generic when they told you to buy a TI anyway, as per the schools policy. And phones are still not allowed in testing in 99% of the U.S.

Honestly it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't sell you $5 of electronics for $100, 30 years in a row.
Crazy how these calculators with their 1970 internals are still so expensive.
These are amazing. I had one in College but someone ended up stealing it. It is way easier to use and is much faster to display graphs/equations than the TI 84. It's also considerably smaller than the old bulky TI 84.

I was able to get Walmart.com to price-match Staples / Target at $99.99 and got the color my daughter wanted (Rose-Gold). Was also able to use the $5 off 50 Amex offer for a final price of $94.99 + tax. Good deal. Thanks OP!

For those who want the calculator in pink, please note that TI has stopped making the pink version due to political correctness. Amazon still has a few of them available, but for a premium price. They probably won't be available for long, so if you want a pink one buy it on amazon ASAP.

Generally, all Staples coupons exclude TI calculators. Staples will probably release a coupon tomorrow and then you will be able to see.

This is worth the extra price over the TI-84 plus and TI SE, it graphs a lot faster and can show information in better detail. In a test this can easily save you a couple of minutes an hour and allow you to double check things quicker.
