Looks like $99 was the more normal price until the Corona virus hit then it blew up...on Amazon anyway. Poor reviews too. I'm passing on this one...

This is a hot piece of junk. Pressurized ink and the black clogs all the time. Had to warranty one out already, and the second one I have fails printing black and jams paper constantly. Would suggest the hardest of passes on this one

I suffered through all the inherent problems of an inkjet printer for years. Then I bought a laser printer and never looked back. No more clogged heads. No more constantly cleaning the print heads using up all the ink. No more new half filled ink tanks. Do yourself a favor and go laser.

I'm all for laser printers but a comparable color, multifunction duplex laser printer will easily run you 3x the price of this unit. Inkjets are still a decent budget option if you need a color multifunction.

Inkjets have the lowest cost per page and the lowest cost of ownership. Every major brand (epson, xerox, hp, brother, etc) has an inkjet line that is super cost effective and fast.
That is only true if you buy the very top of the line inkjet from these manufacturers (which cost more than 1500-2000$ and are only suitable if you do very large scale or specialized printing). In general, the cheaper the printer the higher the ongoing cost of ownership and price per page because the manufacturers price ink at atrocious markups (the consumer inkjet cartridges have ink that have a cost per milliliter in excess of human blood and gold). Plus inkjets are inherently wasteful because the printer has to clean the ink heads every time you don't print for a couple of days (since the dry ink clogs the nozzle). The only inkjet printers that are truly economical are those that don't use ink cartridges but instead directly connect to the ink pool via tubes which are not practical for consumers.

And that laser printer would be what model?
