I just bought the FP 2021 boosters, and saw this in the seller's ebay store.

Prices are averaging around $100, but this is a reliable source and the price goes down to $81.63 when you order 3 or more.

Wizards is trying to keep it's head above water during these non tournament times. By appealing to collectors and tapping into the second hand market prices.

Say what you want about how this will ruin the game. For what you get this is worth $85.

They've been doing things like this since way before "non tournament times". They also have several popular digital card games (including MTGA and MTGO), where they do the same milking of money.

With that said, I can't blame them for trying to get more money out of collectors, but we shouldn't start a narrative that they're struggling to survive and need the money.

Shouldn't it be called Triple Masters since it costs 3 times as much?

It should actually be called Quadruple Masters...because you are getting 4 rares/mythics per booster

After listening to some different view on the product I think I can agree with the notion that products like this keep wizards alive. Its not a product for everybody by any means but it is a way for wizards to make money and continue to exist and provide for all the average/normal consumers.

Well they watch the sports card market sell $1,000 packs and you cant even do anything with those cards. They know there are people out there that will pay it so why not cater to them with some product? MTG is the leading money maker for Hasbro along with Monopoly products. They know what they are doing.

Yer a wizard, Harry!

Really though, wtf is this. Does it have to do with PGA golf? I thought the masters tournament was over already?

Great price for this pack. The box toppers are where the majority of the value is. If you hit a dud, sorry. That's just bad RNG.

Delayed until November this year.

On a more serious note, I've noticed that old sports card pack unboxing streams have been getting a lot more viewers lately, so maybe MTG is trying to tap into the premium pack craze. Probably hoping a 'whale' buys like 100 of these and unboxes them on stream, thereby selling more in a snowball effect. Its also a thing with other RMT-centric online games with digital packs

Can anyone recommend the best bang for your buck to get as many cards to play with at the best price? Not a collector, just to play with. I don't like premade decks either because part of the fun for me is trying out different strategies and card combos. I was thinking about one of those 1000 card lots on Amazon but I'm afraid it will be stripped of all the good cards.

These decks are published annually and are meant for someone to be able to show up to Friday Night Magic and be able to play. If you are serious I would start with maybe a couple of these and buying some booster boxes and customizing from there. I really doubt the 1000 card lots will be of any value. Singles via TCGPlayer are a good way to augment.
