IPS panel so contrast isn't amazing and the local dimming isn't a great implementation. But viewing angles are great and the tv gets very bright.
This is not a good TV for most people (due to the IPS panel). In this price range, look at the Vizio P series instead. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...antum-2019

When compared to the SM9000, the SM9500 has slightly better contrast, can get a lot brighter in SDR, and can get significantly brighter in HDR. Rtings seems to give the edge to he SM9500 in almost every category.

I, probably just like many other SD'ers, keep holding out for the "grail" - LG C9 OLED (65"). Is it worth to continue waiting for it? It seems like prices have actually went up, rather than down, over the past few months. Is the picture quality that different from something like the TV in this deal?
