3Gb per second but still on a 1Gb per second link. Marketing at it's best
The M9 is a tri-band router. The X60 is a dual band.

If you are using a wifi backhaul, get the M90.

If you are using a wired Ethernet backhaul, get the X60.
The X60 has a maximum backhaul of 3000Mbps vs the M9's 1500Mbps. Dual band on the X60 is a 2.4Ghz band and 5Ghz, the M9's have one 2.4Ghz and two 5Ghz bands.

Is this as good as the Orbi Wifi 6?
Based on my experience with both system, Orbi for sure because of advanced features and stability but it's almost double in price for similar setup. I'm using orbi myself but purchased this again to see if they fixed frequent dropout issue.

M9 or these for me? I have a 3 floor (2,000 sqft) house and was planning to have the back haul on the third floor and have the other nodes on each of the floors. The basement area doesn't have dead spots but is weak in speed

I'd only take a tri band if there is no wired back haul between routers. You need the extra wireless bandwidth for routers to talk to each other.

Is this dual band WIFI 6 mesh router better or worse than the Deco M9 Tri-band, which doesn't support WIFI 6 ?

Is there a way to opt out of data collection. Considering tp link is shenzen China based,it is scary.
Really? I did not know this. I am glad that I skipped the M9 from Costco and went with the RT-AC86U instead.

Wrong! Even Google has the decency to respect your browsing data:

Your dismissal of the privacy concerns here is dangerous and it's not okay for a company to collect your browsing data just because other companies might do it too. It should never be acceptable! The "way more data" that Google/Apple collect on different fronts can be opted out in a lot cases with their privacy controls or prevented by blocking trackers with an adblock in your browser or pi-hole/adguard at the DNS level. Unless TP-Link has an opt out (which they don't), you cannot prevent them from logging your entire network's web activity.
Is it possible to use a VPN to overcome these privacy concerns? I am planning to wait till Thanksgiving to see if Velop or Orbi price drops

After going back and forth on privacy concerns for last few days. I have realized that there is no such thing as privacy in this day and age. Tp-link collects your data so that it can provide you the features it provides. Collected data is limited to certain extents and they display it to you in their app which is protected with the strong password you set up. Data is mostly which sites are visited frequently or which restricted content is visited on which device or which malware has been blocked on which device etc. Tp-link can only do that if they have access to those information. It's a give or take thing. More privacy means you will loose those features. In my 10 days of use deco x60 has already blocked some malware and couple of intrusion attempts to my Synology NAS. To me it's al worth it. They have a privacy policy and responsibility towards their customers, and I am Hoping they are taking it seriously. No human is sitting their to watch your data, it's all done through technology. Performance of deco x60 on wired backhaul is great. I get more than 250 mbps speed on my 300 mbps plan through out 5000 square feet of my home and on my deck. I want to make it more clear by pointing out the fact that all the mesh WiFi systems collect your data to certain extent so if you are worried about that, there are really no good options. At least Tp-link gives you the best bang for your buck. Whenever you are concerned about your data use vpn. Your ISP sees everything you do on the net anyway. Fear them and google more than your router vender..

Go for tri band mesh routers, I assume you do not have Ethernet connections between the floors. X60 is dual band only.

I haven't done much digging, so this is a question based on my lack of general understanding of wifi6:

I currently have the Netgear orbi AC3000 (RBK50) I purchased in late 2017.

Would this be faster? I'm willing to upgrade if it is an upgrade, because I can then give this to my parents to improve the WiFi in their house.

Deco x60 is only a good option for wired backhaul. For wireless mesh WiFi m9 plus will perform better unless you can wait for deco x90.

yeah. I don't get why TP-link does not get treated same as Huawei. ;P
Huawei planning on installing 5G towers which will be infrastructure for milllions of people vs TP link which is sold to Americans who are already poor enough and even pay the router on payments. Even if they hack tp link to send out data, that will be people in this post.

Are you on wired backhaul or wireless?
