3Gb per second but still on a 1Gb per second link. Marketing at it's best
The M9 is a tri-band router. The X60 is a dual band.

If you are using a wifi backhaul, get the M90.

If you are using a wired Ethernet backhaul, get the X60.
The X60 has a maximum backhaul of 3000Mbps vs the M9's 1500Mbps. Dual band on the X60 is a 2.4Ghz band and 5Ghz, the M9's have one 2.4Ghz and two 5Ghz bands.

I had M9. With all variables the same, X60 gave me 100-200 MB more in both download and upload. Wifi coverage appears to have extended as well. Also, I have not experienced connection drop like some have reported.

I have a question about the Ethernet port.

Let's say you connect A station's 1st port for WAN and 2nd port for LAN.
Then on B station, can I connect my desktop to the LAN port, to use B station as a receiver?

I would make sure the cable between the router and modem is checking out good. Hook the modem straight into a laptop and do a speed test then put a cable into the router and speed test off of that next.

My TP-Link X60 arrived yesterday. I wanted to like it for many reasons, most being the user interface that allows one to control both 2.4 and 5Ghz frequencies (very useful when setting up smart switches).
My setup was Cable modem ->primary router ->switch -> 2 slave units (cat5 backhaul) with over 80 wifi devices connecting intermittently. The 2 slave units would go green and then intermittently drop, flashing red. Spent 40 minutes with TP-Link tech support which was of no use. Will return to Costco and see if TP-Link does any better in a year or two.

Newbie question: I have AT&T gigabit with an AT&T provided modem and router on the first floor of a 2800 square foot home (2 stories, and basement). Would this system be the best for me for improving signal strength throughout the home or do I need something else?

Mine just arrived today. I had planned on returning it unopened, but it's tempting to do a comparison test to my Google Nest WiFi with wireless backhaul (I'm using 2 additional routers for my points). Decisions, decisions......

Do you have an issue with your current range or speed using the AT&T unit? This unit, like many other mesh options, uses additional points to increase the coverage. So the system in theory connects your device to the strongest point to give you the best signal. I would think a 3 story 2.8k sq. ft. home could benefit from mesh. Note that the fastest mesh systems use a 3rd channel to communicate among each point (the current Costo Orbi $439 system).. This one does not, but can be connected via ethernet (wireless backhaul) for those hoping to get every last bps. So it just depends on how anal you want to get regarding maximizing wireless speed to justify your gigabit AT&T, which you probably won't notice. Note that I just finish crawling through my attic in my new home to install 2 ethernet runs to my furthest locations EEK!

Got mine all set up with ethernet backhaul finally a few days ago.

About every 20 mins, it will drop my phone (galaxy note 9) and the note 9 will say internet not available.

Also, our phones will try to use wifi calling now all the time and they will drop with the wifi calling....then we have to turn off wifi on the phones and then re call....

Suggestions? Should I return it? If I return it, what system should I look for?

Try disabling fast roaming and beamforming under "Advanced options". I have see these advanced features (including band steering) really screw with my Samsung galaxy phones.

Thanks. Just disabled beamforming . Fast roaming was already disabled.....should I enable it since it was disabled?

I dont really know what either of these do. What am I missing out on by having both disabled?

Fast roaming isn't a standard I believe. It attempts to decrease the wait time when roaming between access points for sending and receiving data from your phone. Beamforming is more access point related and really shouldn't affect your phone. I suggested turning them off to see if TP-LINK's implementation of both features don't work well with your Samsung phone. If you don't notice any difference, then it has to be something else. Another option is to see if you turn off one of the bands and see if you still have the problem. Band steering could also cause disconnects between the client and the access points.
