As much as I love Newegg, the Asus TUF A15 deal ($900) is way better for the specs. That one has a 2060 and a better Ryzen CPU. It has its problems (heat management/thermals, poor display), but is far more futureproof.

This same laptop had 120 dollars in points back at another retailer just a couple weeks ago, effectively making it 680. Would not recommend to buy this at 800.

No, it was this exact one. Source: I bought one before returning it

doesnt this have a better screen? I thought the TUF was a 60hz vs this 120hz

The screen is ok on this one but it's pretty dim (250 nits) and the color accuracy is not that great. This is a good deal, I recently bought a similar config at Walmart for only $10 less but it only came with a 256GB SSD, but I'm too lazy to return it.

On Lenovo's web site they charge an extra $50 to go from the 120Hz screen to the brighter (300 Nits) 60 Hz panel. It's then another $50 to get a 144Hz panel, also 300 Nits.

I think this is a bit overpriced for a 1650ti. 120hz screen seems wasted on that GPU, unless you're playing CS:GO or Rocket League.

$650-700 would be slick.

Give the HP Pavilion 16.1" a look. Larger and better screen (144 Hz, 300 Nits, almost full sRGB color coverage). Also better sound on it (and the smaller 15.6" version) with upward firing speakers on the keyboard deck. And you can usually find an open box at Best Buy for under $800.

OP, you highlighted the RGB LED backlight, but I don't think this one comes with it...only the white backlight. At least according to that model number when referenced on the lenovo site.

Still looking like a pretty good deal! As another SD'r noted, there's a very similar one at Walmart for $10 less, but it only has a 256gb SSD--otherwise the same. Walmart around me (SE Michigan) has just started putting up the display units, so if you want to see this system in action they may have them out on display. I've gotta say I was impressed.

Another note, Looks like you can't finance this purchase through newegg (if that's a thing you want to do) due to it being a marketplace purchase. You *can* however, go to lenovo.com directly and have them price match. (seems silly to price match their own marketplace store, but hey)... I was also able to add the lenovo accidental damage warranty as well...so bonus there.

Thanks OP, this lappy was exactly what I needed for my two teenagers who've been begging for computers that were made in this century! (lol)
