An additional RAM and SSD can be added.

The good thing is that it has 1x8GB and you can get another one for 40$

When I asked MSI, they answered that there is no problem with the warranty if I add RAM or SSD.
Not according to Epstein
The installed SSD is NVMe. Additionally, anyone can open the lid of the laptop and put an additional SATA SSD or HDD 2.5

Purely informational review: https://www.notebookcheck.net/10t...198.0.html

Edit: I think I'm going to go for it (even renewing Costco to do it) with 3 yr Accidental from SquareTrade

Can anybody who knows things about stuff give me the yay / nay?

For reference, I'm coming from a 2013 macbook, and a couple of gaming desktops that want to be put out of their misery, so almost literally ANYTHING would be better- but i don't really know anything about current hardware (or previous hardware, really).

Thanks for the link - so it looks like red is the only backlight color option?

06:21 Genadi Dimitrov I have another question. If I want to add more RAM can I do it myself without voiding the warranty or should it be done at your service center?
06:21 Msi Agent We dont offer upgrade services but you can upgrade it yourseld and it does not void warranty
06:23 Genadi Dimitrov Because there is a sticker on one bolt.
06:23 Genadi Dimitrov Are you selling additional RAM or do I have to order it from another site?
06:24 Msi Agent Does not void warranty if sticker is removed.
06:24 Msi Agent We do not sell ram directly

Thanks for posting.

Considering this for my work station at home docked and in clamshell. Isn't the GTX 1650 getting a little old and underpowered?

seems like a pretty good deal, the 17" screen is pretty big is my only beef.
Once you go 17, it is hard going back to 15/14.

Curious why so many of these have such small SSD drives I know they are faster but don't seem like much room if you want very many games. Some games are 1 GB or more in size. Just curious

512 is pretty standard. It gives you SSD and enough space for some games, but when you get into the 1 to 2 TB region for ssds, the price goes up quickly.

I assume they have small SSDs because they want to make a profit and not price themselves out of the market.
