I bought the 5 Sapphire a couple of months back and honestly this is not a watch that will appeal to most. Unless you are a serious athlete and regularly engage in competitive outdoor sports there is nothing special about this watch.
Pros:
Battery life (10 days)
Strava Integration
Cons:
Non touch touch, cumbersome controls, press 3 buttons to dismiss a notification
Heavy and feels even heavier at the time of any strenuous activity. Instead of the sapphire lens I wish the body was titanium instead of SS
Not a smart watch, an activity tracker with notifications few mini apps and customization
No on-board memory for music
No payment method
No calling or even a mic for voice command
Propriety charger and Bands
OEM Bands are expensive at $50
Screen is low resolution
Overall very dated feel.
Not good for tracking gym workout, no auto set detection, manually select options etc.
Garmin connect and other online services were out for several weeks due to ransomware attack and I was not able to sync my watch for a couple of weeks, services are back online but still not fully operational and recovery is in progress.
Connect IQ lacks refinement and customization are not easy to make It's like tons of things all over the place.
For casual walking, jogging, running, cycling I compared results with a Fitbit, Amazefit, Samsung, Apple watch and all of them performed equally if not better.
To me if you want Garmin get the Vivoactive 4 or even the Vivoactive 3 Music)(<$150) are better overall smartwatch/fitness trackers at a fraction of the price.
Apple Watch/Samsung Active 2/Fossil Gen 5 overall better smartwatches for lesser price
Fitbit/Amazefit/Mi bands/watches similar featured fitness trackers(better for indoor/gym workout tracking) at a fraction of a price. Fitbit app is fairly simple and grandma proof.
I have had several smartwatches/fitness trackers and honestly the Fenix 5 is failed to impress me at both price points of $300 now or $700 at launch 3 years back
Please don't kill me for sharing my opinion, it's your money you can spend it whatever way, but please do check out the watch reviews and see how the watch works before spending a hefty amount of money for a not so smartwatch and where there are a lot of other options available.
I always get refurbished Garmin watches. Most of the time they're like new, but you might get one with minor signs of wear. Nothing really noticeable.
I got a 945 a month ago and the only signs of wear were some light scratches on the heart rate sensor.
Bought my Fenix 3 sapphire over three years ago from here...arrived in perfect condition.

I love my new Sapphire watch. It's damn hard to scratch it. Still haven't put music on it. But great watch. Got mine for $340 new, this would be a steal if good condition. Hope there are easy returns for anyone taking this gamble.
Is this seller legit? Anyone buy anything from them before?
Seller gets 4.5 out of 5 on Google reviews.
They do offer 30 day returns, but: "Returns are subject to a 15 percent restocking fee plus the actual cost of shipping. This amount will be deducted from the amount of your refund."
$38 isn't that big of a discount off their regular price.

And I'm seeing 4% CB available.
I'm on the fence.
This is a ~$500 (new) watch and is worth it at that price. I can't speak to the seller, but the price for what you get is smoking. I've had the 5x and now 6x Sapphire and both have been the best watches I've owned and served me well for backwoods hiking to marathons. If you need a sports watch, this thing is awesome.
