I know the Vivoactive 6 has been out for a bit and has the same $299 normal price as the 5. While $199 is a good price for a new (not refurbished or renewed) Vivoactive 5, I am hoping for a sub $150 ๐Ÿคžnew before I start replacing the family's watches.

I agree with what you are saying, but I am a generation behind on my Vivoactive. I used a Vivoactive 3 Music for more than 7 years. It was still working although it had to be charged every couple of days when I upgraded to the 4 last year. I have been happy with the 4 and not thinking about upgrading to the 5, but there is always that inclination to upgrade to the newest version. This is not a bad price (although I have seen cheaper refurbs) but I'm thinking if I should just skip the 5 and upgrade to the 6? Or just stick with the 4?

Just noticed that Walmart is selling the 5 for $195.00.

That's interesting because I think the third-party store is Garmin itself, right? You are saying Garmin has 3.5 stars? I wonder if that is for all Garmin products or just this Vivoactive 5?

Been using the 4 for years after replacing a 3 whose battery wouldn't last a day. The 4 hours forever. I mainly use it for golf and easily get 2 rounds on a charge

It does not have barometric altimeter, it can't tell you how much you have climbed on a hiking or biking activity during the activity.

I don't like watches. Worn them as a kid. They make time pass SLOW because you keep checking the time. Horrible when you are at school or work.
Then you should REALLY get a smartwatch like this, and turn off the screen so that in order to see the time, you'd have to tap it with your other hand. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I can vouch for this watch, replaced a Google Pixel 2 with it and couldn't be happier. It syncs with your phone and the website automatically, records/analyzes sleep more reliably, never requires any stupid subscription, has 5x the battery life, and best of all lets you connect a chest strap HRM to get truly accurate readings during exercise. Even with heavy use (I do weight lifting, boxing, cycling, walking, and running with it) I only need to recharge every 4-5 days not every morning like the Pixel did.

This is really unfortunate. I have the Vivoactive 4 that has the altimeter and that is a very useful feature, both during the event and afterwards to measure my workout. When my watch dies, I'm not getting a Vivoactive 5 or later since that feature got cancelled. I'll probably buy an Amazfit watch that has more features than Garmin for cheaper prices. Garmin does have some other watches with altimeters, but they are all either much more expensive, or more cheaply made (plastic case, etc) and none of those interest me. Your loss, Garmin.
