I heard there are issues when using Netflix 4k. Can anyone comment?

I also read something about that in a review. I have a different Samsung 75" and Netflix 4k works fine but I'm not sure on this one. Maybe they changed something on the 2020 models. I'm not much help, but maybe someone who owns this exact model can chime in.

Rtings [rtings.com] noted it has great black contrast (5110:1) and input lag (10 ms in Game mode) but most other things about this TV are either mediocre or significantly below average.

Ru9000 will likely be a better deal. For the 75 incher. But reviews not out yet

The "crystal" 7 series has subpar reviews on EVERY size available

Rtings' review of the RU9000 is available to insiders right now and should be out for the general public in the next couple of days. We should know very soon!

So what is actually wrong with this TV that couldn't be fixed if using an HDMI matrix and external devices to watch content? It feels like there is something but I'm not seeing it yet. My father is looking to upgrade from a 75" Vizio and he isn't incredibly discerning on quality as long as it is watchable. It would be in a lighted room. He will not pay more than $1500 for a TV - is it worth waiting for whatever that new Vizio series is or should he be going with this? Or is there some other 82" or 86" he should be looking into? Thanks all as always.

Waiting on the RU9000 review too. RTINGS is currently testing it... review should be out early this week. Would be nice if it's an upgrade from last year's RU8000, but I'm expecting it to be very similar. Sorry longview583... didn't see your post until after I posted.

No worries, glad to see someone else is eagerly awaiting the Rtings review of this set. I'm hopeful it's a step up from the RU8000 but I suspect you're right that it'll be pretty average.

Has there been any change in Dolby Vision support with Samsung tv's? Does anyone think it's a big deal? I have an older 65 in my living room that still works and looks good but am getting ready to upgrade. I support open standards and theoretically support Samsung but damn, everyone is using Dolby Vision and it works well. What's the thought among aficionados? For movies I've got to think it's a "pretty big deal" (Ron Burgundy).

Just got off with Samsung Support, because I was told all 2020 Samsungs have HDMI 2.1 (plan on getting PS5 and want to max out capabilities). Anyhow....This is NOT a 2020 model. The 2020 model is TU7000. TU700 is of 2019 model and TU8000 is the updated version of TU7000 and TU8000 is of latest 2020 model with HDMI 2.1 Version.
