I've been using platinum a long time in my new kitchen-aid. i always pre-rinse for the most part and use rinse-aid.
Going to try the original since I had that ordered. hopefully it's nearly as good as the platinum.

We also have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher, absolutely love it. We replaced all kitchen appliances last Spring and the price increases are absolutely crazy. It would probably cost close to double to replace everything today.
