It depends on what your goal is. If you're trying to light up your property like a prison yard and attract every bug in the county, then you are correct.

Perfect for most outdoor accent lights. Long time ago, when it was a novelty, I installed bright cool blue bulbs outside the garage and it looked harsh. Now on my street I have 1 house that has those, while others have "regular" color and brightness, and it looks cheapish and out of place. Bottom line, the attractiveness of the street and the house is best with warm color and on the dimmer side.

I'm a big fan of cool white lighting indoors but when it comes to outdoor accent lighting, I think warm white light looks far better. The house I recently bought has a ton of nice warm outdoor accent lights ruined by a few add-on cool white LED floods. I'm working to add motion sensors to them. Warm white all day outside.

Obviously this is not universally true. Plenty of light for a small porch light by the door. Not enough light for something you want to light up a driveway with.

Bought and installed tonight in outdoor fixture. Light came on at dusk...for 12 seconds. Then Turned off...for 12 seconds. Then turned on... continued for 45 minutes (thinking it would settle down when dusk turned to dark). It didn't. Sending back tomorrow. (Manufacturers website has no troubleshooting info for this light).

Don't know how well these work, but the Philips ones I bought have been flawless for 2 years. The bulbs even work in enclosed housings with frosted glass. Yes they cost more, but the cost difference spread across the life of the bulbs is miniscule. Plus, the Philips has a 10 year warranty and uses 8W instead of 9W, so in 1 year, it costs approximately 65 cents less per year (at $0.17 per kWh) to operate a Philips bulb than this brand. Hence, the cost savings of buying this brand really isn't there

Just my thoughts.
