This price is $200 lower than a previous Frontpage deal from June. -StrawMan86
I don't think you know how OLED works... It doesn't get deeper than a turned off pixel.
C9 actually has "better" HDMI 2.1. On the C9 all HDMI ports support 48Gbps HDMI 2.1. On the CX, LG downgraded to 40Gbps HDMI 2.1.
Whether this will ever make a practical difference is a subject of debate and probably unknowable at this point. Basically it might be a problem if a source can only output 8-bit or 12-bit, but not 10-bit.

Looking to upgrade my 65" C8 to a 77". Would CX be better or a C9? Been reading conflicting opinions about C9 actually being better? Mainly watch 4K streaming with some light console gaming

I had seen that there have been some technical issues on the CX models that aren't present on the C9 editions. New models usually have new bugs that need to be worked out. I would prefer a C9 just for a lower price on a pretty comparable TV, but all I've found are display models.
I purchased a 65" CX from from NewEgg and also own a 65" C9.... CX has deeper black levels and also incredible for gaming with the 1ms lag speed. Worth the upgrade! (I paid more for my C9 last year then I did on my CX)
considering putting one of these 77" in the basement.
price here looks all time low for the OLED 77"!
I think the C9 77 inch doesnt have hdmi 2.1, so the CX would be a much better choice for future proofing.
