I was perusing Costco's website and saw that the 85" Sony X850G is in stock for $1,399.99 with free shipping. Native 120hz, VA panel, Sony quality. When compared to previous popular deals on that had this at $1700-$2000, this seems like a no brainer. I'm assuming that it's limited stock so jump on it quickly. I bought one!

This for sure
I like the Sony for the quality and the Android Tv feature

(LG 86" size you get IPS instead of VA in that model) so likely very close performance.
So really Color and HDR content will be it's downfall... Good TV for Cable Box / TV viewing, but Movie Watching/HDR will be weak... Not really future proof.

Note: The 85" model has a VA panel, and though we haven't tested it, we'd expect it to look much better in a dark room, but have worse viewing angles.
PROS
Excellent low input lag
Image remains accurate at an angle. CONS
Disappointing contrast ratio.
Bad black uniformity.

It's not that crap. Not everyone needs OLED. For a good brand at this size and with Costco warranty, this is very good deal.

Rtings reviewed the smaller version of this TV with IPS edge-lit panel, none of the pros and cons they listed apply to the 85" model. We've been over this many times on SD...
