It's not that crap. Not everyone needs OLED. For a good brand at this size and with Costco warranty, this is very good deal.

Love this TV! Native 120hz, VA Panel, Direct-lit but without Local Dimming, good natural color, great panel uniformity, low input lag, solid HDR performance (only 500-600 nits though) Highly recommended at this price.

the 950g is twice the price and that rtings review is for the ips screen of the 850g. the 85 inch has a VA panel. bad comparison in two ways.

The X850G that rtings tested was not the 85". Since the 85" is a VA panel like the X950G, it should have better contrast and better black uniformity.

yeah i'm confused. i know that there's a bunch of new IPS gaming monitors that produces much better colors than the old TN panels. But I don't see people talking about VA gaming monitors. this is why i'm slightly confused. i'm under the impression that IPS is better Frown sucks being a noob

The Sony just came back in stock for me and I just purchased one. I've always been a Samsung TV guy so I hope I made the right decision for 85 in. Was really divided from the Q60/RU9000 or this X850. I hope I made the right choice.
Anyone compared the two brands on the 85"?

The comparison on rtings showed Sony with better ratings except for picture because the size they compared had an IPS panel instead of VA which would make the picture better. So I ordered the Sony as well. Hope I made the right choice.
