I would gladly pay more for a brighter screen but most don't even give you an option.

Just keep saying "no" to these low ram, crap screen models. They should eventually get the hint.

4700U is golden right now, its running circles around the best Intel has to offer in mobile chipsets.

300+ nits screens, at least 16GB of memory and bigger batteries should be the standard for all Ryzen laptops going forward.

Of course it depends but I backordered the other ASUS 4700u Zenbook on sale earlier today and it came back in stock and confirmed about 5 hours later.

The 4+4 ram is really a bad thing now.

Doesn't that depend on price? What you're asking, can be found on IdeaPad 5 14 but 4700u, 16gb ram, 512gb SSD and a 300 nits screen will cost you around $800, which is a lot of money and not all the people necessarily need that. You can buy this laptop and simply spend 30 bucks to replace the 4gb module with a 8gb one or even a 16gb one around $50. A lot of people need laptop for basic day to day tasks and for them, a average quality display, 8gb ram is just fine. You may be needing a 300 nits display, tons of ram for your work but asking all laptops to come with that, faith increased cost, is really not a reasonable thing to ask. Why people need to pay more when simply don't require that?

If this thing doesn't have USB c power delivery or displayport then I'm not sure how this is any better than the Dell or Lenovo. This thing also has a tiny 43 whr battery just like dell
