They are good quality. We have three different brands... Melissa & Doug are the best ones.

And we have this set, the smaller tunnel makes sounds when the train cars pass through - it's a big hit with the kids.

Tip from a parent of older kids... pretty much every little boy (and many little girls too of course) gets a train play set like this. These sets fall out of favor once the kids hit 6 or 7, and since train tables take up a good bit of space, they hit the yard sale groups shortly thereafter. As they are durable and not the type of toy to play rough with, they are often like new.

Moral of the story- marketplace/yard sale groups are flooded with these things and they're often good as new.

This. We repurposed a train table as a LEGO table. Nice edges that keep the small pieces from dropping on the floor and drawers on most to keep bins out of sight when not in use. They go quick, but they are always showing up.
