Fun game, not amazing but if you're as uncreative as I am, you'll still have a lot of fun playing other people's creations. Definitely worth only $20.

Hmm, wish they'd match digitally. They recently added VR support which is tempting. I strongly suspect this may become a PS+ title before the launch of the PS5.

I don't have it so I can't check, but I'm fairly certain it is just an update that added VR support as there doesn't seem to be a separate game/product in the Playstation Store for VR stuff.

Dreams is a great entry point for current and aspiring creators of not just games, but art/sculpting/animation/music/visual programming, etc. It's not super easy and there's many things to learn, but there's powerful tool sets. The in-game DAW can pretty much rival other, more pricey audio/music production applications.

If you're not creatively inclined, there's plenty of games, animation, and other creations to explore without the need of PlayStation Plus (there currently is no online multiplayer, but it's something they're exploring). There's no microtransactions anywhere, not even for the free PSVR update that released a few weeks ago. I'll admit: There's a lot of jank and low-effort stuff made in Dreams, but there's also a whole community of creators making fantastic quality stuff, some games that you can pretty much play for hours or stuff that looks and plays like an impressive indie game you'd find on PSN.

The "game", if you can even call it that, certainly doesn't click with everyone, but if you want to try your hand at creating something or want to dive into a variety of games and more, $20 is a steal in my book.

Edit...Amazon Price matched

Interesting novelty to play a game with zero direction. I can't imagine why anyone would spend serious development time on this when you could make something faster/more flexible in unity for example, and if it's good enough sell the game on any platform.

Most of the stuff I've seen in videos, amazes me that they spent the time to create with the tools they have available, but are beat out from a quality standpoint by Unity/Unreal prototypes that take 20x less time once you are familiar.

I haven't played Dreams FWIW, just my impression.

I saw an airbender in Dreams that someone was putting crazy effort into and getting huge attention, but still at an early prototype stage and could be pulled with one copyright request.

I still will probably get dreams for the "auto next game" type mechanic. Different experience.
