I have these installed in my bathroom. No box needed. The clips hold directly to the drywall or whatever material your ceiling is. All the wiring is in the box that branches off the light. Easy to retrofit where you don't want to install cans.

Maybe someone here will know. Can i buy 4" lights that do not have drivers? I would like to use my own driver so i can use pwm or 5v control.

What's the application? And why the low voltage? I can understand it for architectural/landscape lighting. Your comment belongs in another forum. You can do what you want to do, but you tend to want to keep assemblies together for cert. purposes (UL, IC rated, etc), especially in an environment with potential moisture ingress.

What kind of fixture box do you need for these? Work with standard flush circular light box behind drywall?

I would like to use them in a home automation setup. I was wrong about the 5V, it is actually 10V, and it isn't used to drive the LEDs, it is used to set the level. So basically I would like to have a loop of 6 wafer lights in series connected to one driver, which would then be controlled by voltage or pwm by some home automation stuff.

Looks like these will fit the bill for going over my shower.

The 3000K | 4000K | 5000K is $17.54.

I bought these a couple weeks ago when posted but returned them to HD. I personally didn't like the square look since the rest of my house is round-recessed. I do like that they have the three temp options.
