I like the coffee it makes, but the per-cup price is a non-starter. The pods range from $1 to $2 *each*, they're just not worth the cost.

Have you tried a method to moka pot/Bialetti? I love it. Cheap hardware and uses regular coffee, no pods.

I would like to echo this statement. While I have thoroughly enjoyed my virtuo line machine, one should know before buying these are a different style "pod" than the classic line. These pods are proprietary and use a barcode on the pod. The machine reads the code which tells it the size and makes the pod appropriately. Nespresso has not licensed this out (eg: like k-cups) so there are not really any 3rd party options. As such, the pods directly from Nespresso are 3-4x more expensive than what you might find k-cups for. The coffee is really good though and there are many flavors. Highly recommend if you are ok with the price.
I have an espresso machine (Breville 870XL) that I've used for past 6 years. I picked this up during Bloomingdales sale (Machine + Arecoccino 3 for $100) and Amex Offer for I think $20 off $100 just to check it out.
I've purchased over $400 worth of pods but I'll tell you, in a pinch this thing works. It's always consistent and just works. I still use my espresso machine regularly, but when I'm in a rush, I just go to this. 3 minutes and it's done. No cleanup, except rinsing the Areoccino.
