Ethanol is corrosive. For those that aren't built for it, it's best to use ethanol-free gasoline. For engines built for it, it works fine. The issue arises for engines built for it is when it sits for a while. If a mower doesn't start after sitting during the winter, it's usually the ethanol in the gasoline. The main issue is that ethanol attracts water. Stabil will help but it doesn't completely resolve the issue, especially the longer it sits not being used.

This youtube video will show the damage ethanol can do even with Stabil:

A must for Generator storage and gas cans to feed them for when the big one hits. I tend to go with Sea Foam myself for it's engine / fuel system cleaning properties (in addition to a two year fuel stabilizer) but you won't find it for this price.

Advance [advanceautoparts.com]

Good price. Thanks, OP.

It must be based on the warehouse that it comes out of, because I'm not seeing the $1 Digital credit.

I bought two grill covers a couple weeks ago and saw the credit so broke it into two orders. No credit on single so changed to qty 2 and it was back. Certainly based on an estimated shipping cost algorithm.

Yep...
Changed from quantity 1 to 2 and there it is. Quantity 3 gets me $1.50.

My assumption is more than 6 months or if you are approaching winter time. Whichever comes first. I've read that the colder air causes water condensation to form and gets moisture in fuel and the ethanol starts making the gas go bad

Excellent answer. The only thing I'd add is that Sta-Bil 360 will help neutralize the effects of ethanol, while Sta-Bil Marine and Star Tron Fuel Treatment will both stabilize fuel and protect against ethanol damage.
