RSIM15 Instructions
This is what worked for me:
I activated Cricket service, set up the phone under my Apple ID, and also updated to the latest iOS. All that with Cricket SIM in tray, as per usual. [Did try to power on the phone for the first time with my preferred carrier's SIM (T-mobile) just to test if the phone comes unlocked but no luck there. It's locked.
To work with your carrier of choice, try RSIM plus carrier's SIM in tray. If you get the pop-up menu, code the ICCID as per instructions. I did not get the menu and was unable to change the ICCID that way.
The workaround was to remove the carrier's SIM and inserted Cricket SIM but with RSIM still in the tray. Then go to "Settings" - "Cellular" - "SIM Applications" - "Edit ICCID" and enter the most recent ICCID number (you can find one here: https://geveystore.com/).
After coding is done, remove Cricket's SIM, insert your carrier's SIM (again, with RSIM still in the tray), and you should be able to register on the carrier's network. I think I needed an extra reboot or two and had to enter Apple ID / Password to proceed.
After the phone connects on your desired carrier, be sure to navigate to Settings - Cellular - Cellular Data Network to ensure the APN settings for your carrier are entered correctly. For T-Mobile, use info found here: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...ple-iphone

This has been posted a week ago. Note that the Cricket unlock is 6 months and if planning to use it on T-Mo or their MVNO's, don't as it does not have the important T-Mo bands 66/71.
thank you for posting this, I've been waiting for it to go back in stock and because you posted this I received a notification and I placed my order! Repped.
there is no $25 activation fee, if you do it online.
Then, you can downgrade it to $30 per month, immediately after activation.
You can also get a $25 credit by using referral.
If you just want the phone for trade in, you can just get it for $60; trade in value at Apple is $100
If you want to use it and get it unlocked, it will cost you $60+ $ ((4*$30)-$25)
Note: if you don't have a port in number, add $10 for port number at ebay
This is excellent info thank you for posting, also I heard that if you get one line at 60 then the next line is cheaper like 30 or something like that? is that true and if so how do we implement that I have just placed an order for one phone about 10 minutes ago. And I want to place the order for the second phone soon

If you place the 2nd order in the same ACCOUNT, it will only cost you an additional $30. You must be doing a valid port by the way, and if you are utilizing a referral code, it is only good once per ACCOUNT.

So if I just placed an order about an hour ago then technically do I even have an account with Cricket yet because I don't have a username and password on the website yet... I thought I have to receive the phone to actually "create" the account, no?
And so, taking into account the above, in order to get the $30 price: when should I place the second order?

This is the most important thing
to know if you're gonna unlock an at&t phone or their mvno
And no volte if you gonna use it on t-mo or their mvno
During the port in number step at checkout, Cricket is asking for the last 4 digits of the account holder's social security number. I bought a T-mobile number off eBay and they included everything but this. eBay seller said to use my own numbers after asking him about this. I'm skeptical that the port in to Cricket will be successful. Anyone have any insight into this?

I have heard that the last four don't matter if the original carrier itself doesn't know the last four of the social. I put all zeros during my port from TracFone
