Latest news (rumor) is that mid September will see the release of the 2080 super equivalent, followed by the equivalents for the 2080 TI and 2070 Super in later September.

AMD is expected to release their new "Big Navi" cards around the same time.

So, we're <2 months away from a whole new generation of cards... not a great time to buy unless you absolutely need one, or there's a hell of a deal.

See above, but often times previous gen cards don't drop in price as much as people think.. In fact, sometimes the opposite occurs, because the previous gen may already be out of production; if people can't get the new gen cards, they may resort to buying the dwindling supply of (sometimes discontinued) previous gen cards.

I've been keeping an eye on the XFX Radeon RX 5700 XT [newegg.com], which is at $380 right now, so $370 is nice at $10 off.

Looks like the same Gigabyte card at Amazon [amazon.com] is currently $410, so discount is $40 for the Gigabyte card.

This is one of the best 5700 XT variants (behind the Red Devil and Pulse) so this seems like a good deal if you need a graphics card now.

With Nvidia about to announce their new series - isn't this likely to drop in price?
Want to upgrade my 970 but ideally to something equally as cost/performance efficient.

I was super skeptical about issues from early versions 5700xt but I'm glad I ignored them and got this card. Perfect price and performance for buying a graphics card mid-end of cycle. Unless you can wait 6 months to a year for new cards (unless you're gonna buy the 3080) I would get this and upgrade down the line if necessary. It even beats the 2070 super on some games. Highly recommended. I got mine for this same price about a month ago.

Never purchased graphics card on ebay. Even if it is from Newegg, since it is ebay, that means no warranty I assume ?
No, warranty is based on seller and will be disclosed in the listing

You're could be waiting on a long time. Historically nvidia announces the lineup but the top tier cards are released first. Then prob a month later for the mid tiers and lower. Then you'd probably not want to pay MSRP so gotta wait for a discount on those. And if the founders edition ends up being garbage on the cooling, you'd want to wait on the third party variations. And who knows what nvidia will price it at. They know people are on a buying frenzy because everyone works at home or is at home now gaming. Capitalism will surely be considered.

With that being said, I would not pay $370 + tax for a 5700XT now. I would prob spend that on a used EVGA 2070/Super, specifically EVGA since warranty transfers with the card (unless that policy has changed recently).

This is an awesome card, I'm running it, stable with Adrenalin driver 20.4.2, with my AOC CQ27G2 27" 1440p 144Hz monitor. Thanks OP for sharing. I also paid $370 about 2 months ago.

September for Nvidia Turning, November for AMD Big Navi. At least a 50% performance gain. This is easily the worst time in years to buy a gfx card.

Don't forget you can still sell your 970 for a premium. I got $127 including shipping. That makes it $251. And that's a deal.

I bought this last time it was on sale and it's a great card. Fan will crank up to 1900 rpm under full load but it plays everything at 90+ fps with all ultra settings. Get the 5600xt if you are playing 1080p. That card only spins at 1500rpm and is ultra quiet. But for 1440+ you need the 5700xt power. And 1900 rpm is pretty quiet assuming you are listening to game sound effects and or music anyway

Same comment as other threads... Gigabyte has effectively no warranty because they won't bother honoring it. You're forewarned.
