They estimate Sept. 12 in store pickup for me. Just a heads-up to check the availability date when you order.

Note that this is a fairly small shelf, the smallest size they offer. It's great if that's what you need, but the larger shelves offer more storage per dollar.

I just purchased two 72x48x24 shelves in the same finish and I like them. The particle board isn't great for wet or humid environments. The ones I received were made in Vietnam, which contradicted some websites advertising them as made in the USA.

So would you not recommend using this shelf in a shed? I have a 6 foot shed so this measurement is exactly what I'm looking for.

If it's going to get wet or if you live in a very humid environment, the particle board will absorb moisture and swell, eventually flaking apart.

It would be pretty easy and inexpensive to replace with higher quality plywood if you have a saw to cut it to size.

This is a great deal for those looking for a smaller shelf. For those looking for deeper shelves, I got a few of the 72×48×24 whales brand shelves from costco for $60/piece. That seems to have a very sturdy board thats painted in black. Almost seems like a very hard plastic board.

The shelves are going to warp and collect dust this we know. Why not just pay for steel shelving from the gitgo? Have seen them onsale at Lowes and Costco for $80 or less to include wheels.

Thanks for your input. I ended up paying $16 more for the red steel version of the same measurement.

Pretty small dimensions but seems like a good price for the material. I picked up the HDX plastic version of this a few weeks back for like $20-25 and it works well. It is also a bit larger in all dimensions.

Depends what you want/need really. I have some steel wire shelving, but wanted solid shelves to store some smaller items on, and the particleboard isn't an issue for in my basement. Wheels reduce the weight capacity, and some rubber wheels are known to deteriorate after a few years.

The link in the OP shows all the different sizes of this particular design available. I went with the largest, and purchased from Walmart for the same price of $63 a couple weeks ago. If you have Menards local, they have that size for a few bucks cheaper after rebate, but it's a month out for ship to store.

Too bad this one is only 12" deep. The other sizes are heavily discounted too, but none available to ship for me. I have a similar one and the particle board has held up fine in a fairly humid environment. The wood just drops in, so I thought I'd just rip some new sheets if it ever needed it. The steel frame will probably outlive me.

Painting the MDF (or particleboard or whatever it technically is) will help seal it and keep moisture out.

If they sag or fail 2 years, have Lowe's or Home Depot cut down a sheet of 3/4" plywood to use for the shelves instead and never worry about it again
