Product Name: | Leviton DZPD3-2BW Decora Smart Plug-in Dimmer with Z-Wave Technology, White, Repeater/Range Extender [Plug-in Dimmer] |
Product Description: | When using a compatible Z-Wave enabled controller, you can schedule or dim your plug-in lamps from anywhere. Automate plug-in lamps and holiday lighting without any new wiring - simply plug in the device and enroll it to the hub. Features two-way status updating for immediate notification and precise automation scheduling. Reduce energy consumption, provide dramatic scene transitions, and utilize the wireless affordable plug-in for table and floor lamps. The Plug-In Dimmer with Z-Wave Plus Technology (DZPD3) is ideal for any residential setting where remote dimming of LED/CFL (up to 100W) and incandescent (up to 300W) is needed. Also allows users to remotely control free-standing lamps individually or as part of a scene or zone grouping using compatible Z-Wave controllers. DZPD3 is for use with Z-Wave enabled hubs like the Samsung SmartThings, to help facilitate a comprehensive smart home. If you do not wish to use a hub but still desire voice controls and select third-party device integration, Leviton recommends the DW3HL. To reduce the risk of overheating and possible damage to other equipment do not install to control a motor-operated appliance, fluorescent lighting fixture, or a transformer supplied appliance. |

I wonder what they mean with the transformer warning. Do they mean any type of AC/DC adapter? Would get more if I could use these with battery chargers (no more than 60W).
edit: guessing these can't snap to 0, prohibiting anything but dimmable LEDs/bulbs.

Like you aren't going to plug in your Bose Wave Radio into this thing. Or your TV
Just lamps/lights
Yes, you turn on your sconce to 100% at it's switch then this plug can dim it.
Awesome thanks. I have wemo mini on it now to a timer and goes on at night but would be even better to adjust without climbing for the cord lol
Thanks!

Thanks!
If you already have a Wemo Mini plugged in then this Leviton plug should work the exact same BUT will allow you to dim instead of only turn on/off. Note that this one is not WiFi like the Wemo. This is ZWave so you'll need a hub with the appropriate radio like Wink or Smart Things (Amazon Echos are Zigbee but NOT ZWave hubs).
Yea we have smartthings here

Then you should be good to go. I'll be doing the same thing. Replacing Amazon on/off plugs on our sconces with these dimmers to hygge the crap out of our living room.
