This is extremely quiet and decently made. I've installed one. Not bad. Almost can't hear it, which is actually a problem as you can't tell when someone comes in.

Edit: that backup battery actually connects to the back of the opener. It's not what's pictured. It's shaped to the size of the opener and looks like a part of it. Very sleek. The picture shows what looks like an alarm battery and mine did not come with that.

Also make sure to read how to program the open and close limit or you'll think you installed it wrong as it will only move a foot or two before stopping, or if it's to close the the ground, it could actually damage the motor so start halfway open at least. If you hold the up button too much it will also damage the motor, you can let go of the button and hit it again to fine tune.
Also internet service is not free, should be added as it's required to order online.
That detail is mentioned in the product description, near the end. It means the rail that comes with this from Costco is only long enough to fully lift a 7' door. You will need the extension kit, part no: 39026R. I would need the same, and it's available on Amazon right now for $37.97. That kit includes an addition section of rail to make this opener work with a taller door. Without it, the opener is only capable of lifting your 8' door a total of 8' off the ground. I think they sell it that way because most smaller garages are 7' doors so they make this unit work for both by offering the extension.

I'm hoping amazon price matches this like in the past. I got a $15 off $50 offer that would be perfect to use for this

Unfortunately, Amazon sells the 7155-TKV and this is the 7155L-TKV.

Right, but it's essentially the same model. A few months ago, this exact model went on sale at Costco and Amazon followed suit and reduced their price as well. Here's the deal from back then with both the Amazon and Costco deal listed: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/565256

Ah OK, good to know! Costco should just stock these locally--I'd pick one up today.

I was saying I wished they would sell them in-store. They don't AFAIK.

Many installers in my area are pushing liftmaster. Not sure if its because it's actually a better product, or if because the prices are higher (which then leads to higher margins).

From the forums that I'm reading, it really seems like the build quality is pretty equal with either brand, however, it really boils down to how well the install is done.

They do. Mine had them earlier this week. They were not marked down yet as the sale started today. YMMV, but you can check your store.
