Seems decent. Would this be an upgrade from an Archer C9 (AC1900)? I cant seem to find any specs on it. My parents need a new router, but nothing special I could get this and give them my old one. I cant seem to find any sites that would let me compare the AC performance for this router to others.

ac = wifi5 standard
ax = wifi6 standard

Wifi6 has lots of enhancements over wifi5, but most of those benefits won't be realized until the majority of clients support wifi6.

Personally, I'm waiting for wifi6e routers to become mainstream before I upgrade from my wifi5 setup.

Do the numbers after the standard translate across standards? Example, is AC3000 roughly the same as AX3000 aside from the WiFi 6 advantages? or is it a totally different scale? I can seem to find any sites that will allow you to compare this router against others. My current router is AC1900

The number afterward is just the theoretical maximum bandwidth, so this is a AX (WiFi6 standard) with theoretical max bandwidth of 3000 Mbps across all bands.

Absolutely an upgrade. Wi-Fi6 capable and 4300 I'd s much higher throughout. 6 streams is on the low end for a wifi6
Model, but it's plenty good

It depends on the actual router. But typically they are within spitting distance of each other. See the reviews by Dong Knows Tech - balanced and data to back up his statements

So unless u have wifi 6 devices. No point. I thought wifi6 will give more range. Effectively more speed at same distance

How much of an upgrade from Nighthawk R7000? It's a beast at the moment. Modem and router in the basement, in a 3 level, roughly 1700sq ft house. Currently with comcast up to 600mpbs.
