This chime pro is the first generation and has been discontinued. Not a bad deal if considering getting a new floodlight camera alone with Costco return policy.

Yes, the Chime Pro is an extender /chime. It is not needed if you have a strong enough signal. But no need to have a ring doorbell. The doorbell and Floodlight are independent.

PawsMans is correct. You can set the Chime to sound alerts when the floodlight detects motion.

Ring / Amazon is probably getting rid of extra stock through Costco before Prime day in October ... I'd still rather the Costco return policy vs the ring "Protection Plan" any day of the year !!!

For most people I would advise against this unless you want a loud noise going off all the time. Any false alarm will have the chime blaring. Even with proper zones setup.
