Lowe's has instant rebates of up to $1000 in SoCal for various tankless gas water heaters. The rebate applies instantly, but appears to vary by store.
This should technically only work for SoCal Gas customers, but some people in the other thread have had success buying from the Torrance store at the discounted price. If you don't see posted prices, change your local store.
