I don't think the negatives of 12pt sockets really matter on what is a homeowner level set. Otherwise this looks like a handy kit to grab and go. I'm not really impressed with the not-made-in-usa Craftsman stuff over the last 10 years or so, Kobalt/DeWalt/Husky stuff is at the same level at this point, so there are probably plenty of other options at this price most days.

At this price, I had to give it a TU. The SAE and Metric deep wells, alone, can easily cost you more than the entire kit. I do miss the days of Sears Craftsman Made in USA sockets, in particular (ratchets were nothing to write home about)... but alas, unless you want to step much further up on the price scale for American-made stuff, this is a pretty good deal (esp w/ case, and esp w/ Amazon's 2 day free shipping).

One other note - the ratchet is a 72 tooth-er... didn't see that mentioned, anywhere. So, that would amount to a 5 degree swing arc, which is esp nice in such a low budget set.

It doesn't have any deep sockets, but has more tools. I bought that hyper tough kit at least 5 years ago and used it frequently. It's not bad at all and I mostly keep it in the car.

Does the case keep the tools in place? I have a craftsman set with a lot more pieces and you organize it then lift it and some of the pieces aren't held in place so they all rattle around. I hate that.
