I just tried to do it using a VPN for China and it didn't work. However, you can grab the game without using a China VPN service. I just confirmed that this method works.

Ubisoft is giving free copy of The Division via uplay from Sep 1, 2pm to Sep 8, 3pm (at your local time).

Free is always good.

I also put about 100 hours and leveled a few alts. It is better than division 2. Grab the season pass on sale if you can. The extra content is worth it.

Great game, especially for free. Season pass for $6 is worth it just for the John Carpenter inspired bangers playing during Underground. It's a shame TD2 didn't simply build off the momentum coming off the end of the first one's dev cycle. Would definitely recommend playing this over the sequel.
