The specs say it can hold 30 long guns but i don't believe it based on the pictures. Can anyone speak from experience? Does having a scope on a long gun affect the number of guns it can hold?

You're not going to fit anywhere near 30 rifles as far as I can see. I like mine, but I don't have anywhere near that. I use mine for other items too.
